Studio Liberal’s first project launched in March 2024, supporting the Bristol Lib Dems in creating a series of election leaflets across their target wards. With a limited budget, this flexible approach provided a cost-effective way to fill a critical gap—professionally and efficiently.

Take a look at some of the finished pieces below!

Ahead of the 2024 local elections, the Bristol Lib Dems wanted to take advantage of ALDC’s three-leaflet deal—but lacked the staff or volunteer capacity to put them together. Hiring a temporary comms manager with the right experience and expertise wasn’t practical, and with election day just three months away, they needed a faster, more flexible solution.

So, they brought me in on a freelance basis.

Within a day, I was up and running—no interviews, no contracts, no onboarding. Over the next few months, I designed 15 leaflets, but that wasn’t all I did. I also: coordinated content with candidates, set detailed timelines, refined messaging, managed the review process, and handled print and delivery. One of the leaflets even won ALDC’s Leaflet of the Week!

When polling day came, the job was done—no extra costs, no ongoing commitments.

For local parties like Bristol, this is a more sustainable, practical model . Having flexible, specialist comms support means getting high-quality campaign materials without the overheads of hiring staff or scrambling for short-term help.
